He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
King David was distressed and in turmoil over the circumstances of his life at this point when The Lord brought him up and caused David to begin to grow and blossom in the situation he found himself in. David went through some grief and pain after this but he was convinced that The Lord had established his “goings”.
A seed is put down into a pit and suffers crushing weight, darkness and loneliness. But with proper amounts of sunshine and moisture it grows into a beautiful living thing that ministers to man’s body as food or to our senses as beauty.
We sometimes feel we are in a horrible pit but if we water that seed with tears of gratitude for the good we do have in life and allow beams of love to shine in our life instead of negative thoughts of hate, bitterness and forgiveness our seed will work its way up out the ground and we will bloom and thrive where God has planted us.
