Song of Solomon 3:9-10

King Solomon made himself a chariot of the wood of Lebanon. He made the pillars thereof of silver, the bottom thereof of gold, the covering of it of purple, the midst thereof being paved with love, for the daughters of Jerusalem.

King Solomon made a special chariot to bring his espoused bride to the royal palace so that their marriage could be celebrated and consummated. Just a few verses earlier the bride to be had been going through the city looking for the one whom her soul loved. The watchmen of the city had found her but she was unable to find the love of her soul.

As we walk through the trials and tribulations of life we sometimes wonder where the Lord is in the middle of it all. It seems out of control at times with no purpose for all the madness. However as we walk the path God has laid out before us for our life, we can rest assured that at the appointed time He will send a prepared chariot for us to bring us into that love relationship with Him we so desire.

That was the very thing that happened to Elijah as he walked along one day. A chariot of fire burning with God’s love for Elijah came and took him up into the presence of God.

We can have that experience in every situation. As we seek the Lord and His way of love in the midst of every situation He will send His chariot of love to carry us along towards the perfection of our peace and blessedness of union with His desire for us..
