In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
There was a beautiful garden, once upon a time, which was a paradise. In it was everything man had need of for his body, his soul and his spirit. It was a place of perfect peace and tranquility and in this garden the voice of the LORD God walked so that man never had to wonder what to do, what was going on or which way to turn. This voice was and still is a sword to protect us and to protect what God has given us. Revelations 19:15, And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword…
It is such a battle to maintain the tranquility and peace of the garden of our heart in these days. With the cares of this life and the weight of others actions and words it seems we spend more time outside that garden than we do inside it. The sword of others tongue can instantly destroy my peace if I am not on guard.
The key to having everything I need for my body, soul and spirit is living inside the paradisaical garden God has planted in my heart. That requires me to be constantly on guard lest an enemy slip in and destroy my paradise.
We have been given a sword to protect that garden with. That sword is the Word of God, the sharp two edged sword. That sword was placed at the entrance to the Garden after man was cast out, to guard the Garden.
We now have had a garden planted in our heart and we can live in peace and tranquility regardless of what is going on around us, if we will embrace that sword and use it as the LORD intended.
It is no wonder that when the enemy came to tempt Jesus in the wilderness that Jesus simply raised His sword and answered, “It is written…”
The next time you feel your peace being robbed from you, pick up your sword and answer the call to battle by speaking the written Word of God.
