Psalm 146:5-6
Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God: Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:

Are you happy with life? There are so many negative and unhappy people in today’s world that it causes you to wonder what in the world is going on? There was a phrase first used by promoter Horace Lee Logan on December 15, 1956, near Shreveport, Louisiana that went something like this, “Elvis has left the building.” After a long day of taking care of life’s business I some times wonder if “Happiness has left the building”.

What is happiness? Well happiness is different things for different people but the Bible says that it comes from God. Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God.

When we aren’t trusting in God and looking to Him for help it is evidenced by unhappiness in our life. We are unhappy because we can’t change this or fix that. We are unhappy because this person won’t change or because someone just will not ever see it like I do. It is amazing to me that I feel like I can change but they will never be able to change.

What a different way of living if I just look to God instead of looking at human beings and situations all the time. God made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: and He keeps truth for ever. So since He did all that He can help me and change what needs to be changed.

It doesn’t matter what anyone thinks about me and the way I live my life because the Lord keeps truth forever. He doesn’t discard truth just because someone doesn’t feel like it’s not right. He knows the truth about me and it doesn’t matter what any person or institution thinks about me. That is liberation and happiness.

I’m happy when I’m looking to the God who created everything and my hope is in Him and not in a political party, a church, a job or a new car.

God keeps truth forever.
