And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
The thing that seems to jump out of this passage of scripture, to me, is “the place”. Jesus was being led to a specific place and not just any place. Calvary was a specifically appointed place according to God’s grand master plan. Therefore since it was a specific place by plan and not by happenstance, the Father knew exactly what was going to happen there. God would be unjust if He expected us to walk through situations He has planned for us if He didn’t give us the talents and necessary substance to do so with. The spiritual fortitude and anointing necessary for Jesus to successfully accomplish His mission at Calvary was already out the on that hill awaiting Jesus arrival when He was led there by the Roman authorities.
When we find ourselves in painful and out control situations we often want to blame human beings or situations around us. We wonder how in the world we could have possibly ended up in such a crazy mess. The truth is we were led by the hand of God to “the place”. Even if my mistakes and wrong choices seemingly caused my problems it was the hand of the Master on the plow of circumstances that opened up my ground.
The awesome thing is that our God is so big that He can take even our mistakes and wrong choices and use them to get us to “the place” where the anointing and talents we need to accomplish His will awaits us. It doesn’t matter how out of control everything seems. Just trust God and praise Him as He leads you to “the place” He has chosen for you to successfully accomplish His will.
This is exactly why He said in Romans 8:28 that all things work together for good. God is in the single solitary thing and He brings all those single threads together at “the place” for our good and His glory.
May God and His goodness and mercy be exalted in or lives for all to see!
