Deuteronomy 30:15-16
See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

Everyday, moment by moment, we are faced with the most basic question human beings ever must address. Do I choose life or death? That’s pretty simplistic, but if I make every choice based on a conscious decision of what will bring life and what will cause death in that situation, I am on the right path to accomplishing the will of God in the circumstances presented to me.

The Bible says that the greatest commandment we are given by the LORD, is to love the LORD thy God with all thy heart and to love thy neighbor as thy self. In fact all the law and prophets hang on the these two commandments, according to scripture. In fact if we do those two things we shall live and multiply and the LORD will bless us in the land whither we go to posses it.

Joseph had that experience and is a shining example to us of how to love the LORD and treat others right in the midst of being mistreated. His own family sold him into slavery when they really wanted to kill him. That cost him twenty years of hardship and misery and yet the LORD blessed him and he prospered him in every land he went to, including prison.

As a result of Joseph loving the LORD and treating others right, many people were fed and survived a great famine because Joseph prospered and was multiplied. In fact the ones who had betrayed him had to come to him for survival in the midst of the famine.

It’s simplistic, but the road to prosperity, spiritually and naturally, is to love the LORD with all your heart, forgive the wrong done to you as the LORD has forgiven your wrong, and do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
