Amos 3:7-8
Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?

What an awesome promise. One of our big human fears is getting blindsided by something. However the Bible promises here in this passage that the LORD God will not do anything without revealing His secret to His servants the prophets. So to be in a position for the LORD God to reveal His secret to me I must become a servant prophet.

A servant prophet is one who serves others the words they hear from the LORD under the power and anointing of the Spirit of God. To have that anointing you must spend time waiting on God in His presence as the one hundred and twenty did in the upper room. Secondly you must become a servant.

The word used to describe a servant here means a servant’s servant or in other words, the lowest of servants. It is a servant that serves other servants. I think as Christians our purpose many times is to climb the spiritual ladder of success so that everyone will know how spiritually rich we are and come to us for the answers to their life. We sometimes take our worldly values and transpose them onto the church and our spiritual walk. We struggle to climb up in the spiritual hierarchy of the church so that we can be a success.

A real spiritual success, for me, is when I reach a place where I’m close enough in relationship to the LORD God that He wants to reveal to me what He is going to do so that I can share that under the anointing and power of His Spirit of Love with others. The last shall be first and he that is greatest shall serve the least.

LORD God in heaven above, make us servant leaders, in Jesus Name!
