Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

We human beings have some kind of propensity to constantly be seeking approval and reward for our actions. While that capacity most certainly was placed inside of us that the LORD might fill it, we are quick to turn toward other human beings seeking the approval and reward that it requires to satisfy that place inside of us. Thus the reason we are so often disappointed with the response of other people toward us. The only reason we can ever be disappointed is because we had a wrong appointment set. If my expectation is in the LORD then a human being can never disappoint me.

It is so simple to please the LORD. The LORD is not some kind of huge monster that is impossible to please. To please the LORD all we have to do is believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. It is like when the disciples were on the sea once upon a time in a ship as Jesus had commanded them to do. As is often the case when we are trying to do as the Lord has commanded us, a storm came up on the sea to the point the disciples began to fear for their very lives. It was at the very worst part of the storm that Jesus comes walking on the water to the disciples in the ship. The sight of Jesus walking on the water scared the disciples and they did not recognize Jesus but thought a spirit was coming to them. However once they recognized that Jesus was in the middle of their storm and not some spirit it was only a short time until the storm was calmed and peaceful seas surrounded them.

While it may be simple to please the LORD that does not mean it is necessarily easy. Simple is not necessarily easy. It is simple to believe that the LORD is and that He is a rewarder of them who diligently seek Him. However it can be a hard thing to actually practice in the middle of the storm. Even more so when you are trying to do what Jesus has told you to do and it is seemingly doing nothing but causing a storm.

When the storms of life are raging simply hold on to and proclaim that the LORD is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. It will not always be easy but the reward is that Jesus will be with you in the ship He has placed you in.
