1 Timothy 6:12

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

We are to fight the good fight of faith and not all the other fights we human beings somehow manage to get ourselves entangled with. Then what is this faith that I am supposed to be fighting for? Simply put faith can be said to be nothing more than unswerving loyalty to the LORD’s Name. No matter what is going around me and no matter how out of control it all seems to be, my trust and hope is in the Name of the LORD. I understand clearly that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him, regardless of the situation.

Early on in his journey with the LORD, Abraham was facing many battles ahead and the LORD came to Abraham in Genesis 15:1 and told him, “After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.” The LORD was saying to Abraham that in the end of the fight to live a life of faith it was all going to be worth it and that the LORD would see to it that Abraham received what was rightfully his.

You see faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God so the LORD was giving Abraham the necessary substance to successfully navigate the road ahead and be victorious. After that encounter Abraham was able to accomplish all that the LORD sent him to do and finished his fight as a rich man both spiritually and naturally and in fact is now known as the father of faith.

Victory is ours and it may not seem easy at times but it certainly is simple. My part is simply to remain unswervingly loyal to the Name of the LORD Jesus Christ and leave the hard part in His capable nail scarred hands.

To God be all the glory!
