Ephesians 2:8

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

We are saved by grace when we believe that it is the gift of God and not something we can do on our own.

God’s grace is His love that He gives to us even though we don’t deserve it and cannot buy it. It is a free gift to us. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” What Amazing Grace and what inexplicable love! And all I have to do to have and experience that love is ask for it and believe that it is mine.

It is a love so infinite that it will take all of eternity to explore, experience and encounter that love. It’s a love that is beyond my comprehension and understanding. It is a love that demands my unrestricted and complete devotion and commitment. It is a love so pure that all a soul can do when it catches a glimpse of that love is to prostrate one’s self at the feet of its Creator in complete silence and adoration.

It is the infolding fire that Ezekiel caught a vision of in Ezekiel chapter one. A love so holy, so pure, so intense and so consuming that it changes everything it comes into contact with into its own nature. It is not changed by what it comes into contact with but it rather changes whatever it touches.

As the ageless hymn written by John Newton in 1779 says so well,

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me!

I once was lost, but now am found;

Was blind, but now I see.

What a gracious and loving Creator to share such infinite love with us mortal creatures. Please teach us LORD to be vessels of love, sharing your infinite love with all whom cross our paths.
