Romans 8:6-7

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.


We live in perilous times. It seems quite evident that the carnal mind reigns on all sides. From the highest levels of government and power in this world all the way down to the man and the woman on the street, the carnal mind and the death it produces is everywhere. Who do you really trust and expect to tell you the unadulterated truth in this day and age? It seems there are few concerned with the law of God but rather with their own quest for power.


The Bible is straight and direct in the matter of the carnal mind, it is death. If someone’s actions result in death, it was from the carnal mind. Regardless of the words said, to be carnally minded is death.


Carnal is a word used to describe the flesh or human body of a person. It also describes the sensuous nature of man, “the animal nature” with cravings which incite to sin.


On the other side, to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Is your mind set producing life and peace or death?


There once was a man named Noah who also lived in a perilous time. With storms and floods of death on all sides he entered an ark and experienced life and peace in the midst of the storms that were producing death. Then in Genesis 8:1 the Bible says, “And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;


Noah was a spiritually minded man in the midst of a great storm and it produced life for all around him.


Is your mind set producing life and peace or death?
